American College sits on Omirou Avenue by Eleftheria Square in central Nicosia and teaches across certificate, diploma, bachelor’s and master’s levels. Its breadth is the point: a student who changes direction after the Foundation year does not have to change institution.

Entry requirements

• A minimum of 50% in senior secondary school
• Postgraduate applicants need at least 40% in a three-year bachelor’s degree, plus two references
• Applicants must be 18 or over when the programme starts
• A passport valid at least two years
• English: IELTS 5 / PTE 58 / Password 5.5 for degrees; IELTS 4 / PTE 43 / Password 4 for the Foundation

Intakes

Three a year. The college’s published application deadlines have been 15 September for Fall, 15 January for Spring and 15 May for Summer, with enrolment opening a fortnight later and semesters beginning in early October, February and June. The college can change these without notice, so we confirm the current dates before you apply.

How you apply

4. Original documents couriered to the college
5. The college submits your file to Cyprus Migration
6. The college sends you a copy of the visa

Documents and attestation

Documents must be apostilled and notarised. The medical examination report can only be done by a governmental medical centre and must be no more than four months old; the no-criminal-record certificate must be under six months old, and online certificates without signatures are not accepted. The bank letter and statement must be issued within a month of the deadline, and the sponsor can only be the father, mother or a first-degree relative.

Worth knowing before you commit

• Tuition and the visa deposit are refundable only if the entry permit is denied. If a visa is issued and the student does not travel, only the deposit comes back.
• The college’s own estimate for living costs over eight months is accommodation plus food — we go through the current figures with you rather than publishing numbers that move.
